TRYOUTS + SELECTION
SC Wave Madison holds tryouts in June to evaluate players and organize teams. The final number of teams in each age group is determined by the number of players trying out and selected. The tryouts are coordinated by the Director of Coaching from SCW Madison who will evaluate and select players along with club coaches. SCW Madison will make an effort to create teams at a skill and age appropriate level as long as the numbers support it.
SC Wave Madison will notify players trying out of their selection status at the deadline set by Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association.
TEAM STRUCTURE
SC Wave Madison will offer select teams for boys and girls beginning at the U-11 age level and ending at the U-19 age level. Teams will be given a gold or black designation. The number of players trying out and coaching availability will determine if there is a third team or not. U13, U14, and U15 teams may carry up to18 players. U16 and higher level teams may carry as many as 22 players. Teams compete in the MAYSA, State League Premier, 1st Division, or Midwest Regional League depending on age and the ability of the teams formed.
While players can guest play on other teams at SC Wave Walworth, SC Wave New Berlin, SC Wave Greendale , and SC Wave Waukesha through the club pass, the only time players can change teams is during the tryout period.
CLUB PASS
SC Wave Madison will use player club passes to develop younger players, enhance team numbers as needed, and help teams remain competitive in their league placements. This club pass allows players to play with other satellite SC Wave teams and SC Wave Waukesha as well.
