SC Wave New Berlin Recreational Level
SC Wave New Berlin offers youth the opportunity to play soccer at many different age groups and skill levels. The recreational level of soccer begins at the U6 level (4 and 5 years old). The SC Wave New Berlin program teaches the fundamentals of soccer while placing an emphasis on having fun and enjoying the game. All players will receive equal playing time in varying positions on the soccer field.
RECREATIONAL SEASON
Soccer is a fall and spring sport with an 8-10 game outdoor schedule per season. The fall season begins in mid-August and runs through October. The spring season begins in mid-April and ends in early June. Practices are held on weeknights at local parks and home games are played at Valley View Fields in New Berlin.
Half of the games are in New Berlin and the other half are away games within the Waukesha Area Recreational Soccer (WARS) league. The WARS league includes teams from Brookfield, Waukesha, Elm Grove, Sussex, Menomonee Falls and other Waukesha County programs.

PARENT PARTICIPATION
At all ages and levels of recreational soccer, parents play a major role in both the enjoyment that their child obtains from playing soccer and the success of the overall soccer program. The effort and time that a parent or guardian puts into a child’s soccer team has a substantial impact on the enjoyment the whole family gets out of their association with SCW New Berlin.
COACHING SELECTION PROCESS
Recreational team coaches do not get paid and are typically parents of players. Coaching clinics are offered and each coach will be provided with specific guidelines as to what is expected at each age level. All interested coaches should volunteer as a coach when asked during the online registration process.
