SC Wave NEW BERLIN - ACADEMY LEVEL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to buy uniform, warm ups, bags, etc... separately from the fee that is set? The uniforms are included, which includes two jerseys, one pair of shorts and one pair of socks. Anything beyond the uniform is available for you to purchase separately through Capelli.
Who coaches my kids? We have a deep coaching staff that will be available for your child's team. There are many variables that go into matching a coach and a team. We have a number of very qualified, licensed coaches that will be assigned to each team.
Where do they Practice? Practices will continue to be held in New Berlin unless something else is agreed upon by the team. There are other Academy teams associated to SC Wave that will be practicing in Waukesha.
Who do they practice with? Training will most commonly be on a team by team basis, unless there is an educational benefit to combine with a similar aged team. That would not be for every practice but would be figured on a team by team basis.
How Many games will be played each season? Fall (6-8) Spring (6-8)
How Many tournaments does it include? It would include a minimum of 4 for the year. Any additional tournaments beyond this may incur an additional cost.
Practice Frequency? There will be a minimum of 2 practices per week. You will have the opportunity of linking with other alike teams to get as many trainings in a week as you would like. We are also working on differentiating the Friday and Winter Weekend skill sessions to separate the Recreational from Academy/Select. With all the available sessions, you child may have the opportunity to train 5x a week if they would like.
Year-round access has been mentioned. What do the Summers look like? What Does it entail? Cost? Practices will begin in August and the end in mid to late June. If there is a want or need to fill in that month off, please contact us and we will direct you to the appropriate people to fill that gap.
When is "placement" and How does it work? Placement of players on teams will happen at the New Berlin Open House, after you sign up for the program. We do our best to match players up with like-skilled players as much as possible. We use evaluations from the previous year as well as evaluate on the day vs other new players joining the program. Parents will be emailed the placement of their son or daughter 2 weeks after the Open House with instructions for the first academy meeting.
Is there payment plan available? Yes, there is a payment Plan available with 3 installments throughout the year.
The cost is a considerable jump from prior year’s recreational rate – How do I know I am getting value or how can I assure that I am getting the best for my child? This is as much a concern of ours, as it is yours. We consider ourselves educators and want the best for our players as you want the best for your child. We understand the considerable increase in cost in comparison to previous Recreational teams. We also understand that the cost may surpass the cost of some of the other clubs in the area. With that being abundantly clear, we still understand it to be a value. For that cost you get year-round access to more training, more opportunity, access to some of the best facilities in the area, and top level coaching. We consider the Academy Program to be your first step in committing to the premier program in the area. You can see the results as you look at some of the success of the older teams that are at the top of the State, Regional, and even National levels. These are all things that no other club in the area can actually show as an end result to qualify the "value" of their ACADEMY programs. We can... and we now have the opportunity in New Berlin.
Is there a Director for the Academy? If it is someone that does it for all of SCW- Is there someone that will be New Berlin-centric that we have access to? Tylor Bacher will be the academy director.
